As you find present, you see all of time.
The present moment is not just a transient instant that disappears as soon as it appears, but rather a "window" or "gateway" into all of time.
This is similar to the concept of a "holographic universe," in which every part contains information about the whole. In this case, every moment in time would contain information about all other moments in time, making it possible to experience and access all of time within the present moment.
Time can feel both present and not present simultaneously due to the transient nature of our experience of temporal presence.
This feeling arises from two conflicting aspects: the ever-present "now" moment and the elusiveness of the present moment.
Time always seems to be intimately present with us in the form of the current moment or "now." This ever-fleeting present is an inescapable part of our lived experience, giving us a sense of time's immediacy. However, any particular instance of the "now" is ephemeral and immediately slips into the past.
These two seemingly conflicting aspects of the present moment can be described as the "paradox of the present" or the "paradox of now."
On the one hand, the present moment is the only moment that we can actually experience directly. It is always "now," and it is always with us. This is sometimes referred to as the "eternal now" or the "timeless present."
On the other hand, the present moment is constantly slipping away from us, as time marches on and the future becomes the present and then the past. This can create a sense of elusiveness or transience, as we struggle to grasp or hold onto the present moment before it disappears.
The paradox of time feeling both present and not present does indeed seem to arise from the limitations and contradictions of our conceptual frameworks for understanding time.
We have a deep intuition that the present moment is all there is, and that the past and future are just abstract concepts that we use to make sense of our experience.
This paradox has been explored by the great philosophers and many other thinkers for centuries, and it raises deep questions about the nature of time, consciousness, and human experience.
